Jacket's signature style
Interior design by JACKET aims to consolidate each client's needs as well as the specific project's requirements into a form which imbues elegance and good taste!

Jacket's signature style is "simple flair" and captures the inherent character of a particular space, which is often lost in Minimalist design.

Jacket marries comfort and functionality with beauty and style in contemporary designs born out of timelessly classic tastes.

We aim to recognise the charm and unique character of each home or commercial space and develop it into a complimentary interior aesthetic!

Working mainly in neutral tones with colourful accents we use combinations of textures to create an extravagantly simple atmosphere. We focus on the physical effect of being in a room, incorporating tactile materials which exude quality through the way they look as well as the way they feel. Our spaces are uncluttered without feeling sparse, fusing international and local styles. We like to use a combination of locally made and imported products.

Although the "Jacket Style" is the central thread running through all our projects we colour interiors with personal touches and will always endeavour to source the perfect piece. Each interior is perfectly tailored to fit snuggly and stylishly!

The making of JACKET
Jacket Interiors derives its name from a quirky fusion of the first names of the directors, Jacci Samios and Ockert Snyman. After qualifying and working in London, Jacci returned to Johannesburg where Ockert had established himself as a respected interior designer. The duo came together working on mutual projects under a large interior design firm and an unstoppable design romance began. Ideas flowed in synergy and a unique style was conceived and in March 2006 Jacket was born.

Over the last years Jacket has grown and matured more than could have been anticipated, and has acquired new members, bringing with them a well stocked artillery of interior design and fine art qualifications, knowledge and experience as well as symbiotic design ideas.

Bev Reeves and Fran De Jager work in association with Jacket Interiors on many of our bigger projects. They have brought a wealth of experience and knowledge in the interior design industry. Their own company, Homeworks, has been running successfully for 24 years.

Anyone who doesn't know yet will soon find out that Jacket is a force too alluring not to be recognised! Currently, we are vigorously concocting multiple residential designs and a five star hotel in the Serengeti. Our projects range vastly in size and we have local and international clients. We recently refurbished an existing luxury hotel in Zanzibar and work frequently on East Africa resorts.

The Way we Work
After receiving a brief we will do a completely unique initial presentation for the client: this will include a furniture layout and mood boards indicating the exact furniture and fabrics we propose to use as well as giving visual examples of the "look" we think will work best. We will also do an itemized quote. This meeting will allow the client to make any desired changes, additions, etc and then decide what he/she would like to proceed with.

We require a 50% deposit to placeorders and we ask clients to allow 6 to 8 week lead time for manufacturing. Imported items may take longer.

Jacket will then arrange an installation date or period taht suits the client, and completely oversee and manage all deliveries and furniture placement. We also offer to accessorise the entire house, hotel or office with artwork, mirrors, rugs, smalls, etc.

Each residential project requires a different a different approach. We endeavor to give each client the individual attention necessary to understand their needs and likes. This aids us in creating a home environment that's uniquely theirs and reflects the personality of the individual or family who live within a house's walls.

Our lodge interiors exude the natural beauty of the amazing locations in which they are cushioned. Neutral African-exotic ambiance is complemented by internationally first class fabrics and furniture, alowing the guest to experience the raw beauty of Africa through a sheer veneer of comfort and class.

Our approach is to create an aesthetic "look" which defines the corporate identity of the business with a layout that is functional and will necessitate ease in the workspace. We realize the importance of creating a corporate space which also motivates the staff.
